Mommy's First Mother's Day

Today's my mommy's first Mother's Day. We went to visit grandma and grandpa in the morning and Auntie Cindy, Uncle Willy and cousin Andrew were there, too. After breakfast, we came home and I gave mommy the best gift I could - I slept all day so she could get the majority of her homework done. Daddy picked up shrimp cocktails for her special dinner and I even slept through that to allow them to eat in peace. She appreciated my gift very much! I hope she knows how much I love her.

My mommy's a graduate

Today my mommy had her graduation ceremony and I was there to support her. She still has 9 weeks left of her RN program, but she wanted to attend to take pictures with me in her cap and gown. Of course, I slept through the whole thing, but daddy, Auntie, cousin Palmer and Grandma will be able to fill me in on the details when I get bigger. I can't wait til she's really done with school so we can play and she won't be so busy with homework all the time.

April - in a nutshell

What a busy month! I can't believe how quickly time's gone by. The Tuesday after our coming home from the hospital, mommy had to go back to school to take her finals. She was very sad she had to leave and didn't want to tell me bye because she thought it'd help her avoid crying - she cried anyways. She had to go to school that Friday, as well, and sure enough, she cried again. Luckily, she had to entire next week off for her spring break and we spent every single day together. I finally got to meet my big cousin, Palmer. He loves me and wanted to hold and kiss me. I can't wait to get older so we can play and give our mommies headaches.

I pretty much slept the month away and mommy took lots of pictures of me sleeping. Yup, every single picture, I'm in the same pose, but mommy kept snapping away. Auntie gets upset because every time she comes to visit, I'm asleep and mommy doesn't let her wake me up. Mommy loves it because she's able to get all of her homework done. I wake 2 times a night, on average, to eat but I go right back to sleep. Grandpa babysat me for 2 weeks since mommy still has one final quarter of nursing school to finish. I was always good for him.

Overall, April was great. I met a lot of new people, got to go to Costco twice already, and got to see what Easter's all about. Oh, and apparently, I laugh and smile in my sleep. That's what grandpa, daddy and mommy tell me anyways, but I don't believe them. Let's see what May's all about.

Happy Easter!

I am only 3 weeks old, but I know I am going to love Easter! The Friday before Easter, I received my first piece of mail- an Easter card from grandma and when I woke from my nap, mommy read it to me. Easter morning, I got an Easter basket from grandma, as well. It had money, and 2 books in it. Auntie Jess gave me an Easter basket with books and a tutu in it. Grandpa also gave me an Easter basket with a tutu and another outfit in it. Nina came by and gave me a pillow/blanket that's a giraffe.

We stopped by my great-grandma Carmen's house and then spent the afternoon at Mom and Pops. I met even more family! I have so many cousins. Even though I slept through the whole thing, I could hear my bigger cousins getting excited to look for candy and Easter eggs. I'll be right there with them next year though. I have so much to look forward to!

My first tub bath

I am finally able to take baths in my tub and I loved it. The water was so warm and it was relaxing to have mommy wash me and then give me a massage once I got out. Daddy took pictures of the whole thing. I don't know why but mommy and daddy take pictures of everything.

Home Sweet Home

We were finally able to leave the hospital on Sunday, April 3. I was anxious to see what was outside the hospital walls. Mommy and daddy were excited to leave, too. I had more visitors waiting for me at home. I finally got to meet my nina, Jessica. She's going to be fun to be around, I just know it! I also finally got to meet my punk Uncle Jon. He was kind enough to finally make an appearance to meet me. Mommy gave me a tour of my room and of my house. I have a feeling I'm going to be running things here in no time.

The first few days of life...

Because mommy had surgery, we had to stay at the hospital a few extra days. I got to meet a lot of my family, and I got to spend all my time getting to know mommy and daddy. I'm so glad I was given them as parents- they're great and I can tell they love me so much! Mommy says I'm a good baby. I love to eat and I love to sleep. I don't like being changed though. I get really cold and it's not fun! That's really the only time I cry, so mommy and daddy better appreciate that and just bear with me. Daddy tries to help mommy with everything. She has to coach him, but he's a fast learner and is gaining confidence every day! I know he'll be a great daddy. So far, this thing called life is good!
